West Indies defeats Afghanistan

West Indies bounced back in the second ODI against Afghanistan to win through their bowling attack by four wickets last Sunday to level the series 1-1.

But on the final day of the three-match series rain forced the abandonment of play for the day.

In the second ODI they bowled out Afghanistan for 135 all out but then labored to reach their target, getting home in the 40th over at the Darren Sammy National Stadium in St. Lucia to beat the inexperienced Afghans.

Rashid Khan, who took seven wickets for 18 runs in the first ODI picked up three for 26. Not a single Windies batsman passed 50 in the series.

Shai Hope scored 48 to see the West Indies to safety.

West Indies were humiliated in the first ODI as they lost by 63 runs. In chasing Afghanistan 213 runs off 50 overs, the Windies slumped to 149 off 44.4 overs..
