American billionaire among seven killed in helicopter crash

A West Virginia, USA, billionaire, Chris Cline, 60, was among seven Americans killed in a helicopter crash about two miles off Grand Cay in the Abacos, Bahamas on July 4, 2019.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force reported that the helicopter took off from Big Grand Cay around 2.am for Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

The aircraft was reported missing to the Royal Bahamas Police Force about half an hour later, when it did not arrive at its intended destination.

Police officers and residents of Grand Cayman discovered the aircraft overturned in 16 feet of water, off Grand Cay.

Cline and his daughter Kameron were aboard the aircraft when it crashed.

The bodies of the four women and three men were recovered and taken to the capital, Nassau to be officially identified.

Aviation authorities in the Bahamas are working to determine the cause of the crash.

Cline was a major Republican donor to President Donald Trump and other Republicans.

Forbes estimated his fortune at $1.8 billion this year. He amassed his fortune from West Virginia’s underground mines.
