World Music Institute presents a collaboration between Haitian songstress Emeline Michel and one of the island nation’s most popular recording artists, Mikaben, in a concert celebrating Haitian Heritage Month.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, 8 pm at the Peter Norton Symphony Space, Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, 2537 Broadway at 95th St., Manhattan.

Haitian singer, composer, dancer, and Red Cross Ambassador, Emeline Michel is internationally acclaimed for fusing pop, jazz, blues, and traditional Haitian rhythms into deeply moving, joyful music delivered with a charismatic live show. She was hailed by The New York Times as “the dancing ambassador with a voice serene and warm like the breeze.” Emeline is active in social causes in Haiti and around the world, and President Clinton chose her as the Headline Performer for the 2006 Clinton Global initiative in NYC.

Singer, composer, and producer, Mikaben blends a variety of musical genres with kompa, the dance music and modern méringue of Haiti with African roots.
