The food delivery service Uber Eats is observing Caribbean Heritage Month with a special promotional week offering its users discounts on all orders made at participating Caribbean-American restaurants.

The week long campaign, ending June 24 is providing its users with a chance to celebrate the monthlong national observance, by giving price cuts to customers when they order at several of the city’s West Indian eateries. This will help drive support for local businesses, and introduce their users to island cuisine, said an Uber Eats spokeswoman.

“New York City is home to a vibrant Caribbean community and Uber is proud to celebrate National Caribbean American Heritage Month by giving New Yorkers the opportunity to enjoy some of their favorite Caribbean dishes at a discounted price, either in restaurants or delivered to them via Uber Eats,” said Danielle Filson.

Several of the participating restaurants are Footprints, Golden Krust, Lash West Indian, Eating Tree Restaurant, and dozens more.

Customers purchasing food from a range of Caribbean restaurants will enjoy $5 deduction when they buy meals over $10. App users can use the code CARIBBEANEATS to enjoy the discount, and if they choose to opt out getting delivery can still earn an advantage, by getting $5 off their next Uber ride when they apply the code EATCARIBBEAN for rides starting and ending in either the Bronx, Queens, or Brooklyn.
