Father’s Day brunch to benefit school in Guyana

Students of St. Rose’s High School in Georgetown will benefit from an upgraded science laboratory and special projects at the school’s campus, thanks to the United States Alumni Association that will donate funds raised at a Father’s Day brunch celebration.

The Saturday, June 23 event will be held at the Marine Park Golf Club, 2880 Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn, from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Lorraine Croft-Farnell, president of St. Rose’s Alumni Association USA Inc., said the planning committee is cordially inviting patrons to come out and celebrate fathers, and pay tribute to male relatives — grandfathers, uncles, and males who make a difference in the everyday life of others.

“Just as precious as our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and females make a difference in our lives, males are worth equally special recognition. We will also have a surprise token for each male present,” said Croft-Farnell.

To mark this special event, the first of its kind, the organization will also create a souvenir journal to capture the spirit of the celebration. Patrons will be given the opportunity to purchase advertising space whether to say congratulations to fellow male alumni, relatives and friends, or to honor deceased male alumni relatives.

The journal would also advertise business, and expression congratulations or remembrance.
