Former West Indies fast bowler Corey Collymore has been appointed West Indies bowling coach for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka starting in June.

The Barbadian has taken over the role of coach from South Africa’s Alfonso Thomas earlier this year.

Thomas started working with the West Indies bowlers during the ICC World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe in February and March this year.

Collymore, 40, played 30 Test matches for the West Indies, taking 93 wickets at an average of 32.32 and a best of 7 for 57.

He also played 84 One-Day Internationals, taking 83 wickets at an average of 35.11 and the best haul of 5 for 51. His six Twenty20s netted him just three wickets.
