Brooklyn’s Adilia Trim breaks Elementary B Division 400 meters record at the nation’s largest track and field series for women at the Armory Track, NYC, Feb. 10 2018. Adilia Trim, a 5th-grader at PS 288 in Brooklyn ran 59.76 in the Elementary B 400 meters at the finals of the 44th Annual Colgate Women’s Games, breaking a record of 59.80 set by Neffertittii Cooper of Philadelphia in 1991.

Meet Director Cheryl Toussaint said, Adillia was already considered among the most promising newcomers, when she surprised event leader Brianna Lindo of Queens, passing her on the final turn, pulling ahead to break the 27-year-old record.

“Adilia and a number of athletes achieved some of the best scores in the nation today, which is especially fitting on the opening weekend of the 2018 Olympics. To date 26 athletes who have participated and gained experience at the Colgate Women’s Games have become Olympians, said Toussaint.

The “Outstanding Competitor at the Finals” trophy was awarded to Dominique Jackson, Bronx, NY

The “Most Improved Competitor” trophy was awarded to Rainn Sheppard, Brooklyn

The “Most Promising Newcomer” trophy was awarded to Adilia Trim, Brooklyn
