BPTT Renegades celebrated their long-awaited tenth National Panorama Championship title at the Panorama finals at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain on Saturday night.

Playing “Year For Love” recorded by reigning International Soca Monarch Voice (Aron St Louis), Renegades scored 287 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Skiffle Steel Orchestra.

Only one victory away from equaling Desperadoes’ record 11 titles, Renegades is also now the third steelband in 53 years to perform in position one at the finals and end up winning the title.

Renegades has previously won in 1982, 1984, 1985, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1996 and 1997.

In the medium band category it was five consecutive wins for Pan Elders.

In the International Soca Monarch competition on Fantastic Friday night Voice (Aron St Louis) made the hat-trick with his song “Year of Love” from 12 other contestants.

In the Ex-Tempo finals Myron B took away the title from the reigning champion Winston (Gypsy) Peters.

And on Dimanche Gras night on Sunday at the Queen’s Park Savannah, reigning Calypso Monarch Hollis “Chalkdust” Liverpool placed 16 out of the 17 contestants.

Helon Francis took the Calypso Monarch title with his composition “Changes.”

Queen of the Band title went to Roxanne Omala with the portrayal “Lilith, Mistress Of The Eternal Dammed” from the band “Dance Mystery.”
