West Indies fast bowlers Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph have landed all-formats of the game contracts, but hard-hitting opening batsman Even Lewis has opted out of the shorter format of the white-ball game.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed the central contracts for the West Indies Men’s and Women’s players for the 2018/2019.
Roach, 30, and Joseph, have joined Test and one-day captain Jason Holder and batsman Shai Hope, as the four players with all-formats contracts.
Roach, one of the four new players on retainer contracts, returned to international cricket last year following a year and a half on the sideline with injury and loss of form and made an immediate impact taking 41 wickets from 11 Tests.
Joseph, however, a member of the successful 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup side, has been out of action for most of the last nine months recovering from a back injury. He has not played a Test in over a year and is yet to prove his T20 International career.
Exciting left-hander Shimron Hetmeyer, who has emerged as one of the most valued talents in the West Indies team, will only hold a red ball contract for the next year.
CWI said that Lewis was offered a white-ball contract and he declined. All the West Indies Women Players have been given one-year contracts.
