West Indies stars in the Twenty20 format may be among the international cricketers set to play in a novel Twenty10 concept, which was launched in the United Araba Emirates (UAE) last week.

The UAE is set to create history in December through the Twenty10 Cricket League to be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

This tournament will be the shortest version in the history of cricket to be played by international players and it is getting the backing by cricket legends around the world.

The Twenty10 Cricket League was launched through a colorful function at the JW Marriot Marquis Hotel which is expected to create a new trend in world cricket.

Shaji Yl Mulk, chairman of the league feels the concept which he created will go on to make history adding it is a defining moment in the history of cricket.

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said it is a format to introduce cricket to new people.

England captain Eoin Morgan said he is looking forward to play in Twenty10 cricket, saying the concept is exciting.

The event which was approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) supported by Emirates Cricket Board will be held from Dec. 21-24.
