West Indies Women to play Sri Lanka

West Indies Women will begin their bid for direct qualification to the ICC Women’s World Cup 2021, when they host Sri Lanka for a series of three One-day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 internationals in Trinidad and Antigua.

The three One-day Internationals, which will be played on Oct. 11, 13 and 15 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in South Trinidad will form part of the new round of matches in the ICC Women’s Championship which will be contested between the leading eight women’s teams in the World from now until March 2020.

The top eight teams include the West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Australia, recently crowned World champions England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa.

The three One-day Internationals against Sri Lanka will be played on Oct. 19, 21, and 22 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua and will also be critical for the two sides, as they look to prepare themselves for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 to be staged in the Caribbean in November next year.

West Indies Women are the defending World Twenty20 Champions.
