The International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s Twenty20 champions will clash with England in the 50-over format in five-match One-Day International series in October in the Caribbean.
This was revealed by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) which said the two teams would meet in a series from Oct. 8-19 with three final games designated with ICC Women’s Championship points.
For West Indies, the tournament will be the first since winning the Twenty20 World Cup in India last month.
West Indies women and their English rivals met during the Twenty20 World Cup in India, when the Caribbean side missed out by one wicket in a last-ball thriller during the group stage.
The first two games have been scheduled for Oct. 8 and l0 at the little-used Trelawny Stadium in Jamaica, which first hosted warm-up games for the 2007 Cricket World Cup, but to date has never staged an international fixture.
The final games will be played at the historic Sabina Park in Kingston, on Oct. 14, 16 and l9.
West Indies team is second in the ICC Women’s Championship on 20 points, four adrift of Australia, while England is in the sixth position with 13 points.
