Boost your business with free Facebook workshop

To find the clientele, small business can no longer rely on simply being a brick and mortar shop. The business is not only on the passerbys on the sidewalk, it is now on the Web.

Many entrepreneurs enroll themselves in classes to increase their knowledge of social media to better attract consumers. Workshops on branding, interactions, promotion, and more help increase a particular business’ value forcing businesses to either learn these skills themselves or hire someone in-the-know.

To better equip small business owners with the necessary skills to build their audience on social media, Facebook and the Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. will host a free workshop for Brooklyn-owned small businesses with special guest Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke Feb. 22.

The Congresswoman, who is a long standing member of the House Small Business Committee, believes that workshops like these are essential to ensure business owners are properly equipped to be successful.

According to Congresswoman Clarke, “While significant progress has been made since the 2008 recession, many Americans still confront daily challenges as our nation works towards a full economic recovery. Part of ensuring a robust and equitable comeback for all New Yorkers includes providing greater access to critical resources that will foster individual and collective success.”

The event will not only serve as an information session; guests will be provided the opportunity to first network with each other before the presentation begins.

Following the seminar, led by a Facebook small business expert, there will also be an opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions of a panel of local small business persons who will share their Facebook tips, tricks, and suggestions.

“I am excited at this opportunity to partner with Facebook to provide this free forum for small business owners in my community and for the greater New York City area. With training, expert advice and timely presentations, this event will be the boost that small businesses need to thrive in today’s economy,” Congresswoman Clarke said.
