West Indies predictably slumped to their seventh straight series loss to South Africa when they went down by eight wickets on the final morning of the third Test at Newlands, Cape Town, South Africa.

Needing a miracle to prevent South Africa from reach a paltry target of 124 for victory, West Indies never got going and the hosts strolled to a comfortable win ten minutes before launch, to complete their fourth consecutive series win over their opponents on home soil.

The Proteas have now won 12 of the last 15 Tests against West Indies at home.

West Indies in their second innings, lost their last eight wickets for 127 to crash for 215 all out, giving South Africa a lead of 91 runs.

Opener Dean Elgar guided the Proteas home in the face of a disciplined West Indies bowling effort, top scoring with an unbeaten 60, while captain Hashim Amla finished on 38 not out.

The pair put on 73 in an unbroken third wicket stand. Amla finished the series with 342 runs at an average of 114. He was voted Man-of-the-Series. Man of the Match was AB de Villiers.

Scores: West Indies 1st innings 329; South Africa 1st innings 421; West Indies 2nd innings 215; South Africa 124 for two wickets.
