Dingolay costume band unveiled its Mas Camp with an “Epic” array of bedazzling costumes to attract masqueraders to its themed white one-color band, set for Sept. 1 on Eastern Parkway.

Leading costume designer Rachel Hall was inspired by Machel Montano’s song “Epic” so much so, that she used the lyrics of the song that say “It’s time for Epicness, and it’s time to mash up the place with an adrenaline rush” to complete a grand collection of ravishing costumes.

Rachel, the CEO of “Rach” fashion line located at the band’s 1323 Nostrand Ave. (between Lennox and Clarkson), collaborated with bandleader Eddie Trotman and designer Desmond Cuthbert, Trinidad and Tobago nationals, to put together lavish headpieces finished with feathers and colorful jewels, to match body hugging bustier and midriff designs, some with leggings, others decorated with fringe and sequins.

Stunning two-piece lace creations accented with gemstones make up the six-section band.

The beautiful white costumes, which exude creativity and glamour, fill the space.

“And so far masqueraders have been coming in droves to the camp, which will showcase artists at its Saturday weekly carnival-style parties,” said the designer,

Vying in the medium size category with approximately 375 revellers, Trotman said all of the costumes would be put together at the camp, where revellers could stop by and make a down payment of $50 towards any costume that range from $200 to $400.

The bandleader was disappointed that Dingolay was not judged properly at last year’s carnival because of an error in the parade order but hopes that the band gets its due notice this year for the quality craftsmanship and uniqueness of its creations.

Young Voice party mix Soca star of T&T will join Dingolay on Fridays at the Mas camp, and then on the Parkway where Trotman said the band will put on an “EPIC” performance for a wining finish.
