Trinidad & Tobago and West Indies mystery spinner Sunil Narine has been included in the West Indies 30-man squad for next year’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

Narine, who was pulled from the abandoned tour of Indian recently after being reported for a suspect bowling action during the Champions League Twenty20, was among eight Trinidad & Tobago players who made the provisional squad which must be cut to 15 by Jan. 7 next year.

Fast bowler Ravi Rampaul, who played two ODIs during the tour of India in October before the series was canceled because of a wage despite between the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), was surprisingly left out of the squad.

The other Trinidadians in the squad are Dwayne and Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Kieron Pollard and Lendl Simmons, who were also part of the West Indies ODI squad in India.

Narine was not included in the West Indies team for the current tour of South Africa and has not taken part in the Professional Cricket League four-day tournament for Trinidad & Tobago which started recently.

Last month the WICB advised that Narine had requested that he be permitted to take full responsibility for the rehabilitation of his bowling.

Narine is currently engaged in remedial work in Trinidad & Tobago.

Daniel from st. Kitts says:
I think Ravi is one of our better fast bowlers, he takes his bowling seriously and should have been in the world cup squad. No wonder we (WI) are where we are. Often times the players who should be representing us are left out without justification. Shame on those responsible.
