Medjine Philis-Volcy: Shares her love with children

Medjine Philis-Volcy was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Aug. 1, 1977, and raised and grew up there.

After high school, Philis-Volcy pursued a bachelor’s degree in accounting at University Quisqueya in Haiti.

After migrating to the United States, she worked as an administrative assistant at Solution Management Group.

In 2005, she pursued a business management certificate at Baruch College, City University of New York; she is currently enrolled at Kingsborough Community College in the Continuing Education Program, where she is studying accounting.

Philis-Volcy has been working as a professional tax accountant for several years.

“I believe in working hard,” she says. “I love to work, love my clients, cherish them a lot. They are the reason I look forward to going to work every day. They give me joy. I love what I do.”

Philis-Volcy said her “beautiful, four-year-old little boy” is “the most precious gift I have ever had.”

“I’m so grateful that my Father Lord was able to bless me with such a gift,” she said. “For that reason, my dream is to live to give.”

“My heart is reaching out to a specific generation, the kids,” she added. “I know they are the most vulnerable, angelic and innocent human being on this earth. I want to be a blessing to them.”

Philis-Volcy said she has decided to be a giver by partnering with the Joel Osteen Ministry.

She donates to K-love Radio Ministry, Care USA, and is a sponsor of a child, Leslie Yamileth, in Salvador, through the World Vision Ministry.

“I look for ways to bless others with the little that I have, because it takes pleasure in giving and being a blessing to others,” she said.
