Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca artiste Bunji Garlin’s track “Differentology” and Korean rapper G-Dragon’s “Crooked” tied for United States-based channel MTV 2013 IGGY Song of the Year award when voting closed recently.

The announcement of the tie for the MTV award was made following an exhilarating two-and a-half days of voting last month by Bunji Garlin fans.

Initially, Bunji was ahead of G-Dragon with 86.56 percent of the votes while the Korean rapper had just 13.44 percent.

However, following complaints by fans, including local ones, via social media that they were blocked from casting votes, MTV announced an extension in voting for 24 hours.

Bunji, who won the International Song of the Year award at the 2013 Soul Train last month, on his official Facebook fan page thanked everyone in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean and other parts of the world who voted for him but the competition took a turn for the worst noting racial slurs were passed around between his and G-Dragon’s fans.
