Sri Lankas top batsman Kumar Sangakkara and former captain has joined the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Limacol Caribbean Premier league. He is one of the top batsmen in Test and One-Day International and has scored 33 Test centuries and averages 56:97.
In One-Day International he averages 39.99 and has scored 16 centuries. He is joining his fellow Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan who also plays for the Jamaica Tallawahs. Sangakkara will definitely assist in strengthening in the middle order.
Jamaica’s Tallawah’s chances in the semifinals are good because in spite of their close lost to Guyana they came back and rebounded well defeating the Trinidad/Tobago Red Steel. Good signs for the Tallawahs with hard-hitting batsman Danza Hyatt in form along with Andre Russell, Jermaine Blackwood and now Kumar Sangakkara.
JAMAICA TALLAWAHS DEFEAT T&T RED STEEL
In spite of the Tallawahs winning this game from the last ball of their 20 overs, they did the important job of restricting the Red Steel to 133 runs for 8 wickets from their 20 overs. Chris Gayle 2 for 4 from 40 overs and Nikita Miller 4 overs for 26 runs controlled the flow of runs. Darren Bravo 27 from 29 balls, Dwayne Bravo 29 from 16 balls, Kevon Cooper 14 from 14 balls and Ross Taylor 20 from 21 balls.
GAYLE AND WALTON SCORED 66 RUNS IN 6.5 OVERS
After a flying start from Captain Chris Gayle and Chadwick Walton of 66 runs in 41 balls, it was clear that the Jamaica Tallawahs was confident of reaching their total. Danza Hyattt scored 25 runs from 25 balls as the Tallawahs struggled a bit at the end after losing their in from batsman Andre Russel via run out. Opener Chadwick Walton scored 28 from 35 balls before the Tallawahs gained victory from the last ball ending at 133 for 8 winning by 3 wickets. Tallawahs’ captain Chris Gayle was named the Man of the Match, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel allrounder Kevon Cooper who scored 14 runs from 14 balls and picked up 2 wickets for 14 runs fought hard to the end with his outstanding catching and fielding.

GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS MUST LIFT THEIR GAME
Guyana Amazon Warriors must improve their game in order to be in the finals of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League. Captain Ramneresh Sarwan must find some type of form with the bat and all the players must perform well, either with bat or ball. Lendl Simmons has been getting a good season with the Warriors. Sunil Narine and Christopher Barnwell have been outstanding. Batting is key; the higher the total off 20 overs, the more likely the opposition will struggle.
