Kingsbrook’s free health screenings

Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center will offer hypertension screenings at its main campus Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27, 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. in its temporary clinical suites on Minkin 5. Stroke screenings will also be available July 24-27 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Vascular Lab located on Katz 4.

Both screenings will be held at Kingsbrook’s main location at 585 Schenectady Ave.,between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road.

In addition, Kingsbrook’s off-site family health center, Pierre Toussaint, will hold an open house on Thursday, July 26, offering free screenings for diabetes, hypertension, asthma and breast health education from 8:30 a.m.-6:45 p.m. at 1110 Eastern Parkway (corner of Utica Avenue).

These additional screenings speak to Kingsbrook’s overall commitment to a healthier community, starting with early detection efforts that help residents better understand risk factors, hospital officials say.

“We are very diligent in our early detection efforts and strive to make access to quality care easier for our community,” states Enid Dillard, director of public affairs at Kingsbrook. “Early detection is important and can prevent severe damage and disease progression, which is why we make sure to provide a year-long calendar of opportunities to make sure everyone who needs a free screenings can receive one.”
