A Night To Remember

Lonette McKee, acclaimed Tony nominated film and stage actress and star of mega-hits “Sparkle,” “The Cotn Club,” “Round Midnight,” “Jungle Fever” and Broadway’s “Showboat” and “Lady Day,” in concert with four-time Grammy Nominated music legend Singer, Songwriter, Jazz Fusion and R&B Soul performer, Michael Henderson come together for a one night only performance, “A Night To Remember” on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m, Aaron Davis Hall, City College of New York (Convent Avenue and West 135th Street on City College campus) New York.

“This concert means the world to me. I feel I have found a home at The City College of New York where I already enjoy teaching my Actor’s Workshop,” states McKee. “And now, the school has given me the opportunity to produce a concert starring me and dear friend, Michael Henderson, who is a music industry icon and living legend. This is our first-ever appearance together and I’m so proud and excited that we’re presenting it at beautiful Aaron Davis Hall on The City College campus in Harlem, N.Y.!.”

A “Night to Remember” will be a dream for music lovers, as McKee will perform hits from “Sparkle,” “Round Midnight,” “Lady Day” and more. Henderson, long-time bass player of Miles Davis, will bring members of the original Miles Davis band to perform with him at “A Night to Remember.” Also, McKee and Henderson will do a duet together for the one-of-a-kind show. McKee, who starred in the hit 70’s classic “Sparkle,” which was recently re-made and released, has spent her life entrenched in the arts and music and is working on a new studio Jazz album.

Henderson who has toured the world and wrote four of the songs from the “What’s Going On: 40th Anniversary Album” (artist: Marvin Gaye) is equally thrilled about

“This concert is going to be one of the most amazing, show stopping performances of my career. My band and I are excited about bringing Quiet Storm, Funk, R&B, Soul, Jazz Fusion and the great style of my friend and mentor Miles Davis to Aaron Davis Hall,” states Henderson.
