The Candice Clarke Academy of Dance from Trinidad and Tobago ventured out of their comfort zone to New York city to grace the American citizens with their talent. It truly was a golden jubilee as 19 of their hardworking dancers ages 11 to 30, along with their wheelchair dancer Indrawattie Ramnanan (the first in Trinidad,) danced their hearts out for many grateful patrons at the “Alvin” Ailey Citigroup theater in Manhattan, New York. Each dance told a story relating to the theme of the show. Indeed it was a celebration of diversity for everyone who witnessed the high level performances of this Trinidadian group.

At The Children Aid Society in Harlem.

The buzz of every patron echoed the same sentiments that the show was excellent, and that Ms Candice Clarke-Andell, the director and choreographer certainly made a mark on the world stage and should be saluted.

The dance troupe has expressed their thanks to the many new friends made at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, The Halem Children’s Aids Society and those who attended the show at the Alvin Ailey Theater on the Aug. 23, 2012.
