University helping restore power in Haiti

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — University of Colorado engineers are heading to Haiti to set up renewable energy projects to cope with power outages.

Two professors and a graduate student are heading to Leogane, a town that was at the epicenter of the 2010 earthquake.

The volunteers will also set up vocational training programs to help Haitians build their own power grids.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera (http://bit.ly/Awt3yB ), families have been unable to work or study at night. The darkness has also led to increased assaults.
