Rapper Waka releases ‘Flockaveli’

Atlanta rapper Juaquin “Waka Flocka Flame” Malphurs released his debut album “Flockaveli” on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Since the 6’4” star hit the music scene in 2009 with the street anthem “O’ Let’s Do It,” which spawned several remixes, including the official version featuring Puffy, Rick Ross and Gucci Mane, Waka has been busy releasing mixtapes, touring and recording more “Flocka” music.

On his debut album, Waka chose to keep production and guest appearances to a minimum and in-house. With features from his Mizay Entertainment family such as Cartier Kitten, Slim Dunkin, Kebo Gotti, French Montana, Bo Deal and more, in addition to production from Lex Luger and Southside, the 19-track disc was expected to satisfy fans and garner new ones.

It has been a banner year for the 24-year-old MC who racked up two BET Hip Hop Award nominations, as well as guest appearances on Monique, 106 & Park and a variety of MTV programming. His current hit single, “No Hands” featuring Roscoe Dash and Wale continues to climb the charts, while the club banger “Hard In The Paint” has steadily kept the streets well fed.

In spite of his busy schedule, the philanthropic rapper finds time to help out in his hometown communities of Riverdale, GA and Queens, N.Y., as well as the cities he visits by not only speaking to the youth but also through providing school supplies such as laptop computers, books, backpacks and monetary contributions.

Currently traveling and performing all over the country in support of Flockaveli, Waka has filmed two movies, one of which co-stars Master P and as if that was not enough, he has already recorded sufficient material for a follow-up album.

Waka is young, enjoys having fun, making people laugh and is always up for a new challenge. In spite of what comes his way, he is relentless on turning negatives into positives and moving forward to live his life.
