Sly Rankin promotes new single in N.Y.

Jamaican based Solja Life (SLR) recording artiste Sly Rankin, whose single “That’s Ma Car” was featured on the MTV realty show “My Super Sweet 16 – Supa 21” featuring Sean Kingston is in New York on a mini promotional tour.

“It feels good to be back in Brooklyn again. Whenever I’m here, I know it’s 100 percent work mode, and that positive energy always yields positive results,” he said.

Rankin’s new single titled “Wasn’t there” has raced its way on two music charts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The song has also been added to the playlist on several radio stations in the state.

“I am happy for the chart success that I am now enjoying. It felt great to hear several of my songs being played at the Nike sponsored basketball competition at Dyckman Park in the Bronx recently. I’m very grateful to everyone who has supported me,” he said.

To ensure his music continues to get maximum visibility in the market, Sly will be doing several club appearances in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Plans are also in place for him to headline the Solja Life Records 10th Anniversary Celebration at Negril Village Lounge in NYC in August.

“After watching one of my favorite artist Lloyd Banks perform at the Hot 97 “Get Tested” event at the Paradise Theatre this past weekend, I am looking forward to performing for my fans at the anniversary party. It’s gonna be a performance not to miss,” he said.
