Healthy families on the move

Brooklyn: Central Brooklyn is facing a very real health crisis. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, roughly 13 people die every hour because of an obesity-related disease, including heart disease and diabetes. In Central Brooklyn, seven out of 10 adults are overweight or obese and more than 40 percent report getting no physical activity at all. Not surprisingly we have some of the highest rates of heart disease and diabetes related deaths in New York City. Comments (1)

Is my obesity related to my depression?

Health: Q: I am a 30-year-old man, 5’9” and I weigh 245 pounds. I am depressed because I am so overweight and so I eat even more. I read somewhere that the reason some people can’t lose weight is because of low serotonin levels. Is that connected to my being overweight? Comment
