West Indies Twenty20 star Andre Russell — who returned after serving a one-year anti-doping ban — has shown he still remains a top all-rounder as he blasted 88 off 36 deliveries for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) recently, the highest ever scored in the league by a number seven batsman or lower.

During his innings, Russell belted a four and 11 sixes — equaling the record for the most sixes in an individual innings of less than a 100.

He also struck Windies teammate Dwayne Bravo, hitting the right-arm fast bowler for 41 runs in three overs which led to 50 runs overall to beat Chennai Super Kings.

It was his only second game back following his ban for a positive drug test, a violation for which he was subsequently banned by anti-doping authorities in Jamaica last year.

Russell said he is now fit and confident to continue his successful return.
