Reason for the Season concert: Merry Christmas New York

Color Blind Music Ministries’ fifth annual Merry Christmas, New York City concert, takes place on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alice Tully Hall Starr Theatre at Lincoln Center.

Performing this year are Fr. Charles Mangano, pastor of Curé of Ars Church in Merrick, New York and his sister, Laurie Mangano from Long Island, with special guests Bernadette Scott and The Love Movement Choir.

Fr. Mangano and his sister are hosts of their own television show, a program of faith-sharing, music and prayer on Long Island’s Telecare Network as well as Brooklyn and Manhattan’s “The Prayer Channel.” They have produced seven successful albums of contemporary Christian music.

The Love Movement music ministry encompasses a Children’s Choir, Youth Outreach, and Senior Group based in Trinidad and Tobago. Since 1972 the Love Movement has touched the lives of many at home and abroad with their exciting mix of dance and contemporary Christian music.

This year’s concert is a “musical reminder” of the “real reason for the season,” Fr. Mangano says.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Love Movement Youth Outreach Program.

Concert tickets are are available at Lincolncenter.org or by calling 212-271-6500. Discounts are available for seniors, students and groups of 10 or more.
