‘Pirate of the Caribbean’ weds in the Bahamas

From a choice of all the paradise islands spread throughout the Caribbean and another 700 sprinkled over 100,000 square miles of The Bahamas, actor Johnny Depp found one ideal to say his vows to his new bride Amber Heard.

The celebrated Hollywood star chose his own 45-acre island hamlet and its oceanfront setting on Little Hall’s Pond Cay in the Bahamas to tie the knot. Depp bought the secluded landmass 11 years ago.

He married 28-year-old, actress Amber Heard on a beach he named Amber Beach when she first visited the island.

The couple reportedly met in 2011 on the set of the movie “The Rum Diary.”

Allegedly, one year later the 51-year-old star of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and his colleague celebrated their engagement.

One week ago, the couple married in Los Angeles, California.

“They wanted to do it all again on the beach and then party for the weekend with friends because they love the island and want it to be a continuing part of their lives together,” a source explained.

The second ceremony invited approximately 50 guests to a “moving but only semi-formal” beach party. Although Heard wore a long, flowing white dress designed by Stella McCartney, one guest said: “Amber did her own hair and make-up and Johnny was as laid-back as usual.”

White flowers adorned a white canopy that formed a backdrop to the beach, sun and garden setting.

The nuptials were reportedly the high point of a “wedding weekend” which the couple had planned to share their joy with family and close friends.

Wedding guests included Lily-Rose, 15, and Jack, 12, Depp’s children from his 14-year relationship with French star Vanessa Paradis; close members of Heard’s family, and English actor Paul Bettany, Depp’s friend and co-star in the movie “Mortdecai.”

The celebration was said to have been planned “pretty quickly” to fit into the couple’s hectic acting schedules.

Depp was scheduled to leave for Australia soon after to begin shooting “Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” the fifth film in Disney’s multi-billion dollar franchise in which he reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

According to a spokesperson: “Amber will fly out to join him later, so there will be an opportunity for them to have a honeymoon of sorts during shooting breaks, but it will be a day here and a day there, which is why this weekend, beginning married life in a place they love with their closest family and friends, was so important to them.”

It is the second marriage for the former musician turned actor. He was first married for 18 months between 1983 and 1985 to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison, the sister of a fellow member of his band Rock City Angels.

A magnet for paparazzi, during his acting career, he has been engaged to fellow stars Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder before the much publicized four-year romance with British supermodel Kate Moss.

His longest relationship was with Vanessa Paradis. The couple broke apart in 2012 after 14 years and two children.
