Paola Mathé was born and raised in Petion-Ville, Haiti, where she completed her elementary and middle school studies.

She attended high school in Newark, NJ, and finished among the top three students in her class, and president of various clubs and organizations.

Mathé went on to study economics and French Literature at Drew University, where she obtained a dual bachelor’s degree.

Her career background is in hospitality management, where she has helped open and operate trendy hotels and restaurants in New York City.

Earlier this year, Mathé decided to tap on her creative side and open Fanm Djanm, a headwrap line and online shop to celebrate strong women everywhere.

Ansanm Nou Se Ayiti, another project very dear to Mathé’s heart, is a social movement she started over a year ago with the hope of uniting young Haitians everywhere to communicate, create and collaborate.

She is also the creator of Finding Paola, a lifestyle blog that tells part of her story – a girl from a small town in Haiti, living her dreams in New York City.
