Lifestyle Entrepreneurs focus on breast cancer awareness

Soul Purpose Team Elite Success Masters N.Y. will honor local breast cancer survivors at MoCADA, 80 Hanson Pl. in Brooklyn on Oct. 23 from noon to 4:00 p.m.

“Soul Purpose Lifestyle Entrepreneurs have combined their efforts and compassion towards this great cause in helping to bring awareness to the most common form of cancer among Black women,” says Joan Sherwood, a local Soul Purpose Lifestyle Entrepreneur and lead host of the event.

The goal of the first annual Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser is to help to increase awareness and pay tribute to women whose lives have been personally impacted by this dreaded disease,” Sherwood adds. “Soul Purpose is dedicated to providing entrepreneurial opportunities and resources that will empower people, especially African American, Hispanic, Asian and Native American women.

“The company will do this by developing and marketing highly differentiated, natural, botanically-based beauty and wellness products marketed through the direct selling channel, Our goal is to help entrepreneurs launch and sustain viable, socially responsible businesses that generate wealth, stimulate growth and revitalize diverse communities throughout the world,” she said.

Soul Purpose was founded in 2007 by Nadine A. Thompson , a visionary leader who has received countless awards. She has been named to the Power 50 List of most influential people in the direct-selling industry, and the 2009 Women of Power and the Power 30 List, where she ranked #22 and #8 respectively.

As a socially responsible company, Soul Purpose supports charitable causes, Thompson said. It developed the ‘Pink with a Purpose” Think Pink Gift Set” containing three solid perfume essences: Blushing Peony, Hawaiian Tuberose, and Zanzibar Girls’ Club. Soul Purpose has pledged to donate $1 from each sale of this collection to the American Cancer Society and the Black Woman’s Health Imperative, Sherwood says.

Proceeeds from the Oct. 23 event, all donations and proceeds from the silent auction, as well as a portion of the proceeds from raffle sales will be divided between the American Cancer Society and the Black Women’s Health Imperative.

A mini reception will take place between the program’s events. Tickets for the event are $25. per person. Raffles are one for $2 and three for $5. First prize 50/50, second prize is a couple’s massage gift certificate and third prize a Pamper Me Pink gift basket.
