‘Impressions’ Dance Recital at JPAC

Artistic Director Verna Walcott-White, and founder of Impressions Dance Theatre said she is proud of the incredibly milestone her students have reached over the last year of instruction, and look forward to the company’s 12th Annual Dance Recital set for Sunday, June 29 at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center (JPAC), at Jamaica Avenue and 153rd Street.

Titled “Let’s Danz 2” – The Journey Continues” the tots and teen will perform pieces including Afro Caribbean, Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, African, Hip Hop and Classical Kathak Rhythms, when they take to the stage at 1:00 p.m.

The Cambria Heights school, which comprises students of Caribbean ancestry, Canada and America have won numerous awards for their show-stopping performances and have thrilled audiences at New York City Hall, York College, the Holiday Inn and for Congressional and City Council members.

Guyanese-American Verna Walcott-White celebrates the diversity of her students and brings a wealth of experience to her dance studio. She is prolific in the art form that she acquired at the Guyana National School of Dance, the Guyana National Dance Company, and numerous other dance companies, where she was a dancer, choreographer and instructor.
