Healthfirst opens new corporate HQ

Healthfirst celebrated the opening of its new corporate headquarters at 100 Church Street in Lower Manhattan with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 7.

The not-for-profit managed care organization offers low or no-cost health insurance to eligible individuals and families living in the New York metropolitan area and New Jersey.

This special ceremony marked the consolidation of the organization’s two New York-based corporate offices – at 25 Broadway and 123 William Street – into one central location.

Healthfirst’s new headquarters occupies 172,000 square feet over four floors, joined by a dramatic interior glass staircase. The space is designed with an open floor plan featuring low partition heights to let in the natural sunlight and foster employee collaboration.

The new offices have also earned a certified gold rating from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system, developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“The transition to our new corporate headquarters marks a milestone for Healthfirst as we begin a new era in this modernized space after a three-year long search,” said Pat Wang, Healthfirst president and CEO.

“We look forward to continuing our presence in the heart of the business district of Lower Manhattan with new offices conducive to staff growth and future expansion,” she said.

Established in 1993, Healthfirst provides a variety of government-sponsored health insurance programs, including New York State’s Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid, as well as Medicare Advantage.
