Jamaican Dancehall Queen Spice over the weekend rocked the red carpet while representing the Caribbean community at the 2019 MTV Movie and TV Awards at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Ca.

According to Tracy-Ann “Roxxi” Chung, public relations coordinator for the Brooklyn-based playbookmg.com, Spice “donned a bold yellow gown, which she describes as bringing the sunshine from Jamaica, designed by Shalay from Atlanta and signature blue hair.”

“She looked ravishing and stunning while walking the pre-show paparazzi corridor with confidence and grace,” Chung said, stating that Spice is one of the cast members of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (LHHATL) that made an appearance at the awards to represent the franchise in the new established category called “REALITY ROYALTY.”

Other reality TV shows in the category, such as Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, The Bachelor, The Challenge and Vanderpump Rules, were among nominees.

“When the time came for recognizing winners, the VH1 show gave the others a run for their money and LHHATL came out as a winner with Spice stepping up to accept the recognition alongside, KarlieRedd, Bambi & Lil Scrappy.,” Chung said.

“In true Spice fashion, she made her way to the spotlight and proceeded to give a speech in full out Patois,” she added. “Attendees familiar with the Jamacian dialect went wild with delight and applauded the songstress for putting her heritage out there like that in the mainstream media.

“Her unique sense of self and ability for audience engagement adds yet another layer to the mystique and rawness of the international star,” Chung continued.

In her second season as one of the main cast members on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, Chung said Spice has used the platform to widen her fanbase by introducing her brand to the North American market.

“On the reality show, Spice did not hold back her authentic self as she is bold as ever while showcasing her talent and her [dancehall] music and also her culture,” she said.
