An unbeaten century by Shoaib Malik (101) helped Pakistan to an easy six-wicket victory in the final of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) Q Mobile Series at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, Guyana.

Pakistan took the Series 2-1 as the Windies bowlers failed to press their advantage after three early breakthroughs that stemmed the Pakistan chase.

Batting first, the West Indies were restricted to 233 for 9 from their 50 overs. In their reply, Pakistan slumped to 36 for three in their reply before a stand of 113 between Hafeez Mohammed (81) and Malik put their team back on track.

Malik was named Man-of-the-Match and also Man-of-the-Series.

Following their loss, Captain Jason Holder said the West Indies batsmen did not score enough runs to challenge Pakistan.

It is now on to the three Tests.

Meanwhile, legendary West Indies fast bowler Curtly Ambrose said the regional team appeared to be deteriorating, following recent statements by Twenty20 captain Carlos Brathwaite and coach Stuart that the Windies is making progress despite losing the four-match series against Pakistan recently in the Caribbean.

West Indies lost the first T20 in Barbados and the other three games at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad,

Following their last defeat, both Braithwaite and Law said the home side had improved, despite not getting the result but Sir Curtly said the Windies appeared to be deteriorating.

“This is getting worst and worst and I’ve started believing that these guys don’t know or have the know how to win games”, Sir Curtly was quoted as saying.

“Too many times they find themselves in a winning position and then for some strange reasons it’s just like they lose their focus, they lose their train of thought and end up losing and it’s like they don’t have the know to win anymore,” said Sir Curtly.
