West Indies women’s cricketers will open their Women’s World Cup campaign in June against arch-rivals Australia, in a repeat of the last year’s Twenty20 World Cup final in India.

The regional team and the Aussies also met in the final of the last 50-Over World Cup in India four years ago when the Aussies won their sixth title.

These are the two teams clashing with each other in the round-robin preliminaries of the tournament, which will see 28 matches played from June 28 to July 23 in England.

The West Indies team was one of four automatic qualifiers along with Australia, England and New Zealand, and enters the tournament as one of the favorites.

In the 2013 final, the West Indies lost to the Aussies by 114 runs in Mumbai, India and renews that rivalry in Taunton on June 26.
