Guyanese among CBC Women of Power Awardees

Caribbean Business Connections (CBS) will honor 10 phenomenal women for their success in business, and outstanding contribution to the community, during the CBC 2017 Women of Power Event, on March 1, at Mirelle’s Restaurant, 170 Post Avenue, in Westbury.

The organization whose mission is to provide a networking platform to small business owners where they can aspire, connect and achieve will present three Guyanese with plaques, during the two-hour event which begins at 6 pm.

They are Rhonda Binda, executive director, Jamaica Business Improvement District (BID) and Sr. Governmental Liaison at Walton & Walton LLP, Cloyette Harris-Stoute – Founder of Guyanese Girls Rock, Inc. Owner of Guyanese Girls Rock Apparel, and Vrinda Jagan, Esq – Owner / principal attorney at The Jagan Law Firm, PLLC and licensed real estate broker / owner at Jagan Realty, Inc.

Honorees are, Dr. Carmelle M. Bellefleur, PhD, RN., vice president, Promoting Health in Haiti Inc and Professor Emerita Nassau Community College, Shantay Carter, RN, BSN, founder of Women of Integrity (WOI).

Sharon Gordon – Renaissance woman, journalist, radio host, publicist, event producer / promoter, co-founder Coalition to Preserve Reggae Music and TSO Production, Linda Ihesiaba – Vice president and senior branch manager at Astoria Bank.

Janice Julian – Co-host of Real Island Radio on WGBB, marketing & public relations of Caribbean Food Delights and the ‘voice’ of The Door Restaurant, Suzette Grant McTaggart – CBC strategic partner, board member of Long Island Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and New York Life Agent, and Yesenia Vasquez – CEO & president, Laser Now and member of The Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will also be honored.
