As Jamaican Glenroy March and House of D’Marsh gear up for New York Fashion Week (NYFW), patrons will be in for a treat as the New York-based designer will be presenting his latest collection, La Fantaisie Ball, on Feb. 13 at 6 pm at Coco Mat.

March said the show will be preceded by cocktails at 5 pm.

He said the midtown location of Coco Mat serves as “the ideal backdrop for this collection,” which is noted in its slogan “the fairytale of the perfect sleep and utmost comfort begins here.”

March said the Fall 2017 collection is inspired by the beauty and magic of the fairy tale characters.

“The collection is based on the life of this Hawaiian born princess who was raised in Australia and grew up watching all these beautiful Disney characters,” he said. “Having grown up, she decides to go back and revisit all these characters to create an amazing gown to wear to her first ball, La Fantaisie Ball.”

March the dresses in this collection have been inspired by characters from popular fairy tale favorites Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.

“The brand’s new collection is aimed at women who are inspired by the whimsical fantasy of their favorite Disney films and wish to ensure that the design is not just magical but practical and affordable,” March said.

March said House of D’Marsh had its genesis in spring 2003 when he launched his spring collection during Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica’s capital city, Kingston.

With an eye for detail and perfection, March said he honed his design skills at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts, obtaining practical experience while working in the costume department.

With a constant pulse on trends and new innovation combination, he said House of D’Marsh seeks to “marry sophistication with fashion-forward sensibility,” stating that the House of D’Marsh has received numerous editorials in a variety of local and international fashion and consumer magazines.
