Popular Brooklyn 7th Day Church of God Pastor Gilford T. Monrose is conducting a major youth conference in Ridgecrest, N.C., from June 30–July 4.

The St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands (USVI)-born Monrose told Caribbean Life that the “#GETHOOKED Catch the Vision Youth Conference (CTV) has served to provide youth groups with an exciting, spiritual, jam-packed week of training and fellowship that inspires deeper commitment to youth ministry and provide the tools to serve in their respective local church and community.

“For conference 2016, we want to pick up where we left off — exalting Jesus Christ by nurturing children and youth in the development of spiritual strength through interactive workshops, forums, debates, community service and general sessions — which provide opportunities for worship,” said Monrose, who is pastor of the Mt. Zion Church of God (Seventh Day) in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.”

Monrose, who is also president of the 67th Precinct Clergy Council in Brooklyn, said he created the CTV in 2001, adding that, since then, CTV conferences have drawn more than 2,000 youth and delegates, representing more than 60 churches nationwide, in addition to churches in Mexico, New Zealand, Brazil, French Guiana, South Africa, England and many Caribbean islands.

He said he has added “four tracks, creating one great experience.” They are, “#GetHooked Youth Conference, Marriage Enrichment Retreat, Praise & Worship Boot Camp, and the Global Leadership Summit.”

“Children can take advantage of our Digging Deeper Summer Camp,” Monrose said. “This adventure will take them from exploring God’s creation through nature, to a biblical curriculum journey to becoming spiritual champions.

“This conference will benefit and be enjoyed by the whole family,” he added.

Devon A. Blackwood from Maryland says:
I am very pleased that you published information with Pastor Gilford Monrose and Catch the Vision conference. The World has changed and the gospel of Jesus Christ, how we meet the needs of the poor, and how we guide our young people is critical. The role of Faith based organizations in the political and community process, is needed now more than ever and we should always be thinking in creative terms about how we can make that happen. I'd like to congratulate Dr. Monrose for his unselfish and tireless commitment to our youth.
