Top Twenty20 wicket taker

All-rounder Dwayne Bravo became the first bowler to take 300 Twenty20 wickets when his new side Gujarat Lions trounced Kings XI by five wickets in the India Premier League (IPL) which started recently.

In reaching 300 wickets, the 32-year-old surpassed Sri Lankan speedster Lasith Malinga who sits on 299 wickets.

The right-arm seamer finished with his best ever IPL figures of 4 for 22 runs from his four overs to restrict King XI to 161 for 6 off their 20 overs. King XI then cruised to their target with 14 balls remaining.

Bravo’s feat follows other landmarks by other West Indians such as Anisa Mohammed (first 100 Twenty20 International wickets), Chris Gayle (first to hit 300 sixes in Twenty20s) and Kieron Pollard (first to play 300 Twenty20 matches).
