Fourteen-year-old Tyyan Williams’ collection has already graced the runway of Fashion week’s “Young Fashionistas Stepping out on the Runway Uptown.”
Her Pinky Sez line of children’s clothing has become one of the top selling brands for all ages, making her a success story at a very young age.
Just recently, Williams partnered with the Jamaica Center Business Improvement District, to showcase her Back to School line of chic outfits for girls and boys on the Jamaica Colosseum Mall in Queens.
“I wanted to design a collection that is unique and different from the usual uniform, so I jazzed up the pieces in a style-appropriate collection and added accessories to compliment outfits.
The collection was superb, befitting the little ones who had lots to choose from as they make their way back to school for the new semester.
Sponsored in part by Jackie Love of the JLove Fashion School, the kiddies and teens strutted down the runway in eye-catching dresses, matching separates, skirt, jackets and shoes, that were accessorizes with sunglasses, and hair decorations.
The fashion maven who launched her first collection at age eight after being inspired by her older siblings whose runway shows she attended, designs the cutest, most creative ensembles.
She likes to work with plaids and playful fabrics to compliment kids and youth stylish choices, said Williams who has a pink motif in many of her collections, that are embellished with bows, stylish sleeves and capes.
The Pinky Sez band that wowed audiences at Fashion on the Hudson, and Brooklyn Fashion Week, empowers youth through positive fashion couture, while using a platform for young girls and teens to raise awareness of social ills.
Her line of whimsical creations spread messages of positivity. In addition, Williams created the PS Dolls to discourage bullying, and plans to unveil her first book to inspire youth through fashion.
“I inspire youths by telling them that the more you push yourself, the better you become at whatever you are passionate about,” said the couturier.
Tyyan Williams is a fashion model, fashion designer, and performer who at this tender age has achieved greatness in the fashion industry and no doubt will continue to impress the world with her innovation and sense of style.
Williams is a four-time winner of Pageant Queen creations and was featrued on the TV shows “Law and Order: SVU” and “A Gifted Man.” She has also worked alongside stars Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx as part of a musical number in the hit show “Annie.”
The JCKids BTS Fashion show — “Kidz with Style and Confidence” which was organized by Valerie Sevens, executive director of the BID office, for the stores of Jamaica, showcased back to school outfits and accessories from Cookies, Gap, Careers World, Claire’s Jewelry and many others.
