Music is the international language that transcends culture and state lines.

New York is a hub for international acts to reach another edge of their audience as seen in popular music festivals like Prospect Park’s concert series at the Bandshell.

In an effort to provide another platform for Afro-Caribbean artists to connect with their American audience, Ania B. and Antonin DK are launching the first Caribbean African Reggae Fest.

Ania B. and Antonin DK are two New York implants of French descent. Their group, Wide World Connexions, aims to provide services for artists that often distract them away from their craft. “We want them no longer to be discouraged by all the steps to follow to be booked to promote themselves at the expense of their music,” Ania B. and Antonin DK said in an email.

The first Caribbean African Reggae Fest will be held at the live music venue DROM located in lower Manhattan at Avenue A between East 5th and 6th streets.

The music lovers are utilizing the event, featuring four artists – Sekouba Bolomba, Martin N’Terry, Oxygen Box Band and Allinor – to lead up to another string of worldwide events around reggae music. “The Caribbean African Reggae Fest is inspired by eclectic reggae music represented through talented musicians. A fruit from the joyous and colorful reggae and world music heartland. Thanks to this event, we want to open this music to the world and show these different form of reggae,” Ania B. and Antonin DK added.

Ania B. and Antonin DK’s ultimate goal through World Wide Connexions is to “make feel the good vibrations and free expression from artists having any plural cultures and offer to the public unprecedented fest!”

Tickets are available online at Eventbrite for $10 in advance and will be sold for $13 at the door.
