Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College will spring to life on Mother’s Day Saturday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m. when some of the hottest Caribbean artistes and personalities such as Lyrikal, Becket, Delcita and Kaci Fennell, Miss Universe Jamaica entertain moms.

It is the annual “Mother We Love You Concert” produced by EVERYBODY’S “Caribbean” magazine on Mother’s Day Saturday. The spectacular concert also features Nikki Crosby – with her 2015 massive hit, “Go-Granny, second runner-up in the 2015 International Soca Monarch. Nikki Crosby will unquestionably inspire everyone.

Kaci Fennell, Miss Universe Jamaica is a motivator. The younger generation will enjoy her presence and message. “I am looking forward to greet moms at the concert and to make their weekend very enjoyable,” says Kaci who is a proponent of healthy eating habits amongst young people.

Biggie Irie, the versatile soca and reggae singer from Barbados, is expected to render his hits, “Ode to Jamaica” and “Nah Goin Home.”

Soca star Chucky Gordon, the 2015 National Calypso Monarch of Trinidad & Tobago, is also performing. Gordon won the title in 2014. He is T&T 50th Anniversary of Independence Calypso Monarch.

Becket, the calypso icon from St. Vincent & the Grenadines, plans to render his Mother’s Day classic, “Mama.” Will he sing “Teaser,” “President Obama,” or “Calypso Disco.” Calypso Disco became the soundtrack of a Hollywood blockbuster?

“Mother We Love You concert” is for the entire family including children of all ages. As a result, EVERYBODY’S is pleased to introduce the Batingua Dance Company consisting of teenage dancers. Josh Boyce, a 12-year old Barbadian-American, who won a scholarship to study dance at the famed National Dance Institute in Harlem is making his debut on the big stage.

The Sunshine Band led by Sunshine Diaz is providing live music.

“We thank readers and fans who suggested mothers for saluting. Four mothers will be recognized at the concert,” says concert manager Michelle Young.

The moms to be honored are Mrs. Gloria Renee-Murray of Grenada, Mrs. Bibi Zoriena Sankar of Guyana, Mrs. Mavis Cameron, president of the Jamaican-American Adventist Association and Ms. Simone HoSang, director of Nutrition Department of Royal Caribbean Bakery.
