Tri-state area music lovers will get the opportunity to see two powerhouse singers perform live – Tessanne Chin, season five winner of The Voice and American Idol winner Fantasia. Both ladies will share stage at an event billed ‘Voices In Concert’ that will be held at the newly renovated Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 11, 2015.

“We are thrilled to have these two crowd favorites -Tessanne and Fantasia – perform live on one stage in Brooklyn, New York for the very first time” said event organizer George Crooks of Jammins Entertainment.

Announcement of the event has sparked interest among loyal Jamaican music lovers in the diaspora who voted in droves to ensure victory for Tessanne in 2013. While no one can definitively say how many votes the ‘Hideaway’ singer got each week from U.S. supporters and other ethnic groups, one thing is sure is that Jamaicans in the tri-state area came up big for her. The ‘vote for Tessanne’ campaign was galvanized by dedicated fans who voted, texted, tweeted and organized viewing/listening parties around the city to support the singer.

Chin has since broken new ground – performing at the White House for President Obama. Her album “Count on My Love,” her first since winning the Voice includes popular songs like “Tumbling Down,” “Everything Reminds Me of You,” “Always Tomorrow” and “People Change.”

Fantasia also has many loyal fans in the tri-state area. Her story, which was documented in a Lifetime Movie original is just as surreal as she beat the odds to walk away with the title in 2004 – the third season of American Idol. Her powerful voice proved too much for the judges and fans to resist. Since then she has recorded many hit songs and topped the Billboard chart with “I Believe.”

She has copped Grammy awards for “When I See You” and her album “Fantasia.” She is also the recipient of an NAACP award and has conquered Broadway with performances in “The Color Purple” and “After Midnight.” Part proceeds from the concert will be donated to the American Foundation for The University of The West Indies.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with Showtime at 9:00 p.m.
