The new novel “Sahara” (published by AuthorHouse) by author Angella Ricot follows a beautiful heroine through the political intrigues of the 1990s and early 2000s as she finds herself in the center of a political scandal that threatens to consume her.

When Sahara and her two sisters overhear their father sell them into prostitution, they realize they must take their fates into their own hands. Before they can escape, a terrible fire breaks out, killing two of the sisters. The only survivor, Sahara, leaves the exotic Caribbean island of Labadee for New York.

The beautiful and beguiling Sahara becomes a successful gold thief who soon finds herself caught up in a political power play. Her path crosses with those of President Bill Clinton, drug lord Giovanni Bucellini and the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, but Sahara’s wits and charms might not be enough to save her from the scandal about to engulf the country.

Packed with romance and mystery, “Sahara” weaves an enthralling, sensual tale that captures the politics of the 1990s and 2000s. Ricot hopes to force readers out of their comfort zones and realize that they are masters of their own destinies.
