With much of the northern portion of the world locked in a freeze-frame, Britain’s Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are enjoying a southern vacation on the Caribbean island of Mustique.

The famous, royal couple left their palatial home in England to soak up the sun on the small private island that is part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and in the process spend some private time with their only child George who will be joined soon by a sibling.

The heir to the throne and the seven months pregnant former Kate Middleton are reportedly vacationing at Aurora Villa where their 18-month-old toddler is receiving swimming lessons in the private pool.

“He loves splashing about. It’s the perfect place for him to play,” an unnamed source told US Weekly Magazine.

“This will be their last big trip before the baby is born in April.”

Another reason for their getaway trip could have been the 60th birthday celebration of Carole Middleton, the Duchess’ mother on Jan. 31.

Reportedly, along with her husband Michael, 27-year-old son, James, 31-year-old daughter Pippa family friends Nico Jackson and Donna Air, the matriarch celebrated the milestone event at Basil’s Beach Bar.

In addition to getting some tropical rays, members of the group were spotted carrying snorkeling equipment across the sandy shore of one of the secluded beaches on the luxury island.

Last year, the young couple vacationed in Australia.
