Guyana Tri-State Alliance to honor youth

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and New York City Council member Dr. Mathieu Eugene will host an awards presentation to celebrate youth, in commemoration of Guyana 48th Independence Anniversary.

The awards ceremony will take place in the rotunda on Wednesday, July 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Titled “Leaders in the Making”- Nurturing the Potential of Guyanese Youth, President of the Guyana Tri-State Alliance, Patricia Jordan-Langford and members, will present awards to young people who have made outstanding contributions to the community. A special award will also be presented to one of Guyana’s shining movie stars.

The Caribbean community is invited to the awards and cultural presentation that would be attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Guyana New York, Brentnold Evans and members of the Diplomatic Corp.

Guests will also enjoy Guyana Telling Our Own Story- reading of Ingrid Griffith’s “One Woman Play – “Guyana’s Gold.” A violin presentation, dance and poetry reading will also be on stage. Guyanese fare will be served during the reception which follows in the lower level of Borough Hall.
