Undoubtedly, this time of year, the biggest attraction to New York finds tourists mingled with local residents around 50th Street where Radio City Music Hall endears audiences to experience the annual Christmas Spectacular. And although the biggest applause usually lavish kudos to the resident Rockettes, rival contenders for rousing fanfare annually include Santa Claus, a Nativity scene, two riveting organ players, a fantastic orchestra, and a myriad of magical attractions. The 2014 edition features dazzling dance numbers and costumes, traditional favorites, state-of-the-art technology and the return of a classic number “Rag Dolls,” which has been completely re-imagined and stars the Rockettes.

Guaranteed predictable is the annual unpredictability of the presentation that appeal to thousands of patrons annually.

Television promos already offer a sneak peak to the adventure. However, seeing (up-close) isbelieving and this year, when the finale number, “Snow,” transformed the hall into a breathtaking winter wonderland digital snowflakes float above. Hovering with marvel for families to cheer the giant snowflakes encased in transparent bubbles propelled by GPS, after the delightful floatation display neatly fade from view into the orchestra pit.

“Snow” is now one of the classic performances that include “Living Nativity” and “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” which sets the standard for the Rockettes style of precision dance, as vital parts of the show.

See the show and afterwards, check out the city’s Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, it is located right behind Radio City…merry Christmas.

The 2014 Christmas Spectacular will run through Dec. 31.
