The popular Internet-based group VincyCares, Inc. will be honoring five members of the community during its 5th anniversary celebrations on Sat., Dec. 13, 2014 at the Friends of Crown Heights Educational Center in Brooklyn.
According to Michael Alexander, the group’s public relations officer, Garnes Byron and Dr. Michael Dennie will be honored for their “dedication and outstanding contributions to the Vincentian community in the Diaspora and at home.”
Alexander said VincyCares, Inc. will also be presenting its Lifetime Achievement Award to former St. Vincent and the Grenadines national football (soccer) captain and coach Rudy Boucher for his “significant contributions to sports in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and the wider Caribbean.”
In addition, Alexander said the group will be recognizing the following recipients as “Visionaries for setting the bar for career advancement, community service and strong commitment to our homeland: Alicia Dewars, of Alicia Dewars Design, and Malcolm X Joyette, Garjo Auto Services, both in Brooklyn.
