Cameron releases new hit song

Vincentian singer Cameron has released his new seductive single “Encore” which is set to make you move, dance and feel good about Soca music on a whole new level. “Encore” is already buzzing and expected to be a major hit and Cameron is expected to soon release another single called “Eclipse.”

Cameron was born in the rural area of New Grounds, North Union. His early introduction to music came as a little boy going to church throughout the years as he sang for church members, friends and family. As he grew older he began experimenting with writing songs and listening to genres such as Disco, Slow Jams, Soca, Techno, Reggae and Country. Being a shy young humble fellow, he only shared his musical talents with close friends and family.

After graduating from high school, Cameron migrated to Tortola where he lived with his mother who encouraged him to follow his dream. She was his biggest mentor and supporter.

Shortly after, he migrated to New York and attended Rockland Community College and Pace University receiving his degree in Business Marketing. He then moved to Boston and gained another degree in music at the Boston College where he met one of his closest friends, Gary, owner of one of the ground-breaking radio stations Choice 102.9fm.

Cameron soon launched his own marketing, promotional company named Blackroots Promotions, where he started networking with other artists, djs, producers etc to bring Soca music from Saint Vincent and other islands where artists were not so popular. With Gary’s help they started to promote songs from the small islands on the radio and he began to make a name for himself.

Cameron’s first single “Don’t Be Afraid” was born in 2009 on the major riddim produced by The Madarchitect/Tony from Trinidad. The riddim was a success, playing on major radio stations in the Caribbean and abroad. In 2010 Cameron teamed up with Parry Jack who produced the hit riddim “Couldn’t Believe Riddim” and hits such as “Bashment Freaks” and the more popular hit “Wine Up On Me” by Zoelah and gained more recognition with his hit “Against The Wall.” Then in 2011 “Milk Shaker(Y.G.I.)” was born fusing techno and pop. In 2012, he released “Body on Body” where he aimed towards taking Soca music in a new direction, giving it a new dance feel where all other cultures could understand embrace, love and support the music.

This year has brought new challenges to Cameron! He has recently collaborated with Adrian Bailey, producer of the number one smash hit “Turn me On” by Kevin Little.
